Rest in Peace Poppy

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Last night I unfortunately saw our neighbors dog maul to death our loveable cat Popcorn.  I was helpless as I screamed and the owner did not help in the situation out of fear from his own dog.  We laid her to rest late last night.  I am still in tears and am praying for God’s touch to take away the image of what I saw and to give me peace because she is not suffering.

As parents, we see our teens in so much danger and we scream and try to rescue them, but sometimes in our best effort, we can do nothing more than to pray and ask for God’s intervention and help.  Although we lost our Poppy last night, I know that she was precious in God’s sight and He has a special place in heaven for our furry friends.  For our teens, they are even more precious to God and He so much wants to help them too.  Maybe they won’t ask for the help, but with the responsibility that God endowed us with, we can pray for God to intervene and give them the wake up call that they need to come to Him before it is too late.

Despite this tragedy, I will continue to rescue helpless animals, but even more so, pray for God to rescue families who are hurting and broken.   There is still so much work to do and families need prayer and support.  We love you Poppy!

This scripture is for you Poppy!  See you in heaven!!

In that day the wolf and the lamb will lie down together, and the leopard and goats will be at peace. Calves and fat cattle will be safe among lions, and a little child shall lead them all.  The cows will graze among bears; cubs and calves will lie down together, and lions will eat grass like the cows.  Babies will crawl safely among poisonous snakes, and a little child who puts his hand in a nest of deadly adders will pull it out unharmed.  Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so shall the earth be full of the knowledge of the Lord.

Isaiah 11:6-9
